ALEXANDER MALAYEV, MD.

Dr. Alexander Malayev has reaped the benefits of medicine since his childhood days, when he slept on an antique trunk in the corner of a 9' x 12' room reserved for his father's living quarters in the Soviet hospital. His father - a talented, experienced, and beloved physician dedicated to his patients - served thousands of people in a hospital with only ten rooms. He instilled a sense of dedication and hard-work in his young son, who grew up to become a physician himself.

From that tiny room housing his entire family emerged a brilliant young man in love with learning. He excelled in chemistry, math, and physics, and with his strong science background and high class-rank, he channeled his scientific interests by pursuing a career in medicine. In 1981 at age of 22, Dr. Malayev graduated from medical school in the former Soviet Union (1975-1981) and practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Uzbekistan (1981-1985) and then Kiev, Ukraine (1985-1993) until his immigration to the United States.

All of that medical experience paid off in Flint, MI, where he worked as a surgical assistant while studying for his licensing exams. During preparation time for the medical board, he worked as a professor at Ferris State University and Mott Community College in Flint in the Department of Science, and taught many future medical professionals in basic chemistry, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.

Dr. Malayev completed a year of general surgery training at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ (2002-2003) and graduated from a family medicine residency program at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, MI (2003- 2006).

An interactive physician with extensive training focusing on patients' education and improving their well-being and self-esteem, Dr. Malayev is able to provide many services, which include a wide spectrum of cosmetic procedures, in-patient management and ambulatory medicine such as pediatrics, gynecology, internal medicine, pain management, and geriatrics.
